Syreeta
Your Kiss Is Sweet

At No.13, on “The Top 50 UK Singles Chart”, the week of my 3rd Birthday, is Syreeta with Your Kiss Is Sweet.
As I journey further…
…into the 1970s, I meet up once again with this understated and exceptional female artist. The time before, was when she appeared alongside her (then) husband Stevie, collaborating on his latest single at that time. Now, even though their marriage union had come to a close, their musical one was still very much alive and well.
This is the second single from her second album to chart. An upbeat reggae-tinged tune which bounces along effortlessly; and again co-written by Stevie, who also produces once again, and whose backing vocals are prominently heard at the close of the track.
The single…
…landed straight into the Top 30 on the 26th of January, and by the following week going into February, it climbed another five places before flying up a further eleven last week to break into the Top 20 at No.14, where it now cranks up one more notch to this week’s position.
From here…
…it moves up another place to reach a peak of No.12 before March sees it begin to slip back down, until after 8 weeks in the chart, it leaves after the 22nd of that month.
