Clifford T. Ward
Scullery

At No.46, on the “The Top 50 U.K. Singles Chart”, the week of my 2nd Birthday, is Clifford T. Ward with Scullery.
Clifford was just coming to the end…
—of a low profile 5-week run with this song, taken from his third album Mantle Pieces, which had been released at the close of the previous year of 1973.
The singer / songwriter who, in his past life, used to teach English and Drama at North Bromsgrove High School (where a couple of notable pupils, namely Trudie Styler, and Underworld‘s Karl Hyde, had studied under his tutelage), was enjoying continued success since scoring a big hit with Gaye from his previous album, released earlier in the past year of 1973.
This latest single…
…had crept into the Top 50 at No.49 on the 20th of January and moved slowly up the chart until last week, when it reached its best position of No.37, before dropping back to this position this week, where it will leave quietly afterwards.
