The Beginning Of The End
Funky Nassau

At No.47, on the “The Top 50 U.K. Singles Chart”, the week of my 2nd Birthday, are The Beginning Of The End with Funky Nassau.
We arrive at the next New Entry…
…in the UK Singles Chart this week; and if you’re a follower of The Prodigy, you may just recognise this track, as they will sample it for their hit single No Good (Start The Dance) 20 years in the future. The original track will also show up in the movie sequel Blues Brothers 2000.
The group…
…were a funk outfit which at its core were three brothers, who incidentally hailed from Nassau in the Bahamas; Frank, Raphael (or Ray for short) and Roy Munnings, with added personnel contributing guitars and bass, and with a finishing touch to their sound provided by the presence of the Funky Nassau Horns.
This aptly titled single…
…will climb higher in the forthcoming weeks, breaching the Top 40, and will go on to reach its highest position of No.31 by early spring on the 10th of March.
From there, it will slip back until it leaves after the 30th of that month, tallying up 6 funky weeks in the process.
