John Holt
One Thousand Volts Of Holt

At No.50, on “The Top 50 UK Albums Chart”, the week of my 3rd Birthday, is John Holt with One Thousand Volts Of Holt.
A plethora…
…of highly regarded and well known tunes, given a sprinkling of sunshine, begins the UK Top 50 Album Chart for this week of my 3rd birthday during the mid-seventies.
John is already familiar to me, having met him already while compiling the UK Singles Chart which runs parallel to this rundown; and that single is included here to tie in with this very album.
So here you have reggae-infused offerings, which had been hits, either in the UK or USA for (amongst others) Shirley Bassey, the Bee Gees, The Chi-lites, Bread, Sammy Davis Jr., Lobo, Roberta Flack, The Turtles, Stan Getz & Astrud Giberto, and The Poppy Family (whose hit “Where Are You Going Billy” is re-christened with “Baby” at the end).
It’s all good-natured easy-going stuff, and with John’s well established smooth vocal, it’s no surprise the LP made it into the chart and warmed up the chilly winter nights.
The album…
…re-enters the UK chart this week after previously making an appearance last month, when it had landed at No.42 and had stayed for just that week.
From here…
…the stay is just as brief, with the LP once again only staying for this current week and then walking out altogether after the 22nd of February with just 2 separate winter weeks to show for it.
