Queen

Now I’m Here

At No.16, on “The Top 50 UK Singles Chart”, the week of my 3rd Birthday, is Queen with Now I’m Here.

This super-sonically charged…

…monster track, coupled with the regal flamboyance that can only be Queen, rocks this week’s UK chart at this position.

At this point in my young life, I was yet to encounter this band. That occasion is still in my future, but when it does happen, it will be like a slow rumble of thunder before the lightning bolt blasts into my world. Eventually I will indeed happen upon this song, and when I do, it will instantly be one I will personally judge as one of their absolute best of the best.

This release,..

…one of Brian‘s, is coming hot on the heels of their massive, much more sedate, but no less powerful single Killer Queen, one of Freddie‘s, which had almost topped the chart only a few months back in November last year in 1974.

I’m sure that everyone who hears these songs on their transistor radios are impressed, but for those who have stereos or even higher-end equipment at this time are positively getting blown away from what they’re experiencing.

It seems that…

…with both that track and this one, the band are now really finding that audible zenith that they’ve been chasing and, with their self-assurance and optimism at an all-time high, the boldness and intense ferocity, especially with this track, is undoubtedly proving that they are a force to be reckoned with; and are absolutely not afraid to take on anyone who dares to try and say otherwise.

And for those who discover them at this point with this single, I envy you slightly, but what a leviathan of a piece this truly is.

The single…

…had first landed in the UK chart around a month ago on the 19th of January at No.35, and by the following week had penetrated the Top 20.

Getting into this month of February, it scaled up first to No.12 and then topped out at No.11 last week before it now falls 5 places.

From here…

…it will slip back to the edge of the Top 20, and from there will take a bigger bump back to No.38 before staying around no longer, totting up a decent 7 weeks as little queenie go go goes, leaving its memory seared into those who witnessed its presence.
