We Love Each Other
At No.45, on the “The Top 50 U.K. Singles Chart”, the week of my 3rd Birthday, is Charlie Rich with We Love Each Other.
Charlie is back…
…in the charts this week. A year on from witnessing his astounding and long awaited success with last year’s entry “The Most Beautiful Girl“, that one song had opened the floodgates, especially in his native USA to, not only his (then) latest album release “Behind Closed Doors“, but also to journey back into his retrospective back catalogue which reaches all the way back to the late 1950s.
All this attention, plus then some, had culminated in Charlie receiving the prestigious accolade of Entertainer of the Year at last October’s CMA Awards at the Grand Ole Opry House in Nashville, Tennessee.
For us over here in the UK, this current single encompassed two more tracks pulled once again from his aforementioned hit album, following on from the title track hitting the UK charts last spring.
The single…
…had snuck into the chart at No.49 a few weeks ago, on the 26th January, and by the following week had broken into the Top 40 to preside at No.37. A position which has so far yet to be bettered, as by its third week’s stay it had dropped back to No.43, with this week slipping another couple of places.
From here,..
…it will fall back yet another couple of places to No.47, and that unfortunately will be its final week, closing the door on this single’s run after the 1st of March.
