Alvin Stardust
Good Love Can Never Die

At No.11, on “The Top 50 UK Singles Chart”, the week of my 3rd Birthday, is Alvin Stardust with Good Love Can Never Die.
Alvin is back…
…and crossing my path for the third time, while I continue to journey along my musical road; and although the dress sense and the basic rock ‘n’ roll blueprint is pretty much the same, the production of the actual recording seems to have gone up a level, making this new release, to me, sound a bit more lavish.
Underneath it all though, is the same familiar Alvin, with all the same moves which everyone has grown comfortable with; and at this point, it seems the well-oiled machine is still running smoothly, with the performer having secured a big hit for each subsequent season since I last met him a year ago.
The single…
…entered the UK chart four weeks ago on the 26th of January and sailed straight into the Top 40 at No.40.
As this month of February began, it made a big leap of eighteen places to reach No.22, and then last week jumped into the Top 20 to sit at No.17 before scaling up another six places, landing at this position this week.
From here…
…it slips a couple of places to No.13, and then drops a further three places as March arrives. During the early spring month, it continues to fall away; and eventually will strut out in its black platforms after the 29th of that month, with a solid 9-week run in its wake.
