Cat Stevens
Teaser And The Firecat
At No.49, on the “The Top 50 U.K. Albums Chart” on my 1st Birthday, is Cat Stevens with “Teaser And The Firecat”.
A 2nd visit to the Top 50…
…and a subsequent showing for my 1st Birthday week for this album from Cat Stevens.
The first time we caught this album, on the day I was born, it was enjoying a stay in the Top 10.
It would hover around this position for a few weeks before gradually slipping back further before landing at this current position for this week.
From here, it will yo-yo between the upper 40’s and the mid 30’s before taking leave of the chart after the 24th of March.
There will be more appearances for this album this year,..
…and the first will be for 2 weeks from the 1st of April, when it lands one place higher than this chart at No.48 before climbing the second week to No.38 before taking a quick breather.
It will then leap back in on the 22nd of April at No.24, before reverting back to the same pattern at the lower end of the chart until it’s off again after the 26th of May.
There then follows a trio of 1 week appearances at the lower end of the chart:
Week commencing the 3rd of June, at No.49,
Week commencing the 17th of June, at No.42,
and week commencing the 15th of July at No.44.
The next appearnace would last for 3 consecutive weeks, where it will hover around the mid 30’s, from the 29th of July to the 18th of August.
The rest of the appearances this year will each last for 1 week only:
No.46 from the 9th of September,
No.38 from the 30th of September,
No.45 from the 14th of October,
N0.48 from the 11th of November,
The album will end up making 2 further week long visits, both of them in the following year of 1974.
The first of these will see it enter at No.50 on the 14th of April, the last week on chart will happen from the 28th of that same month before waving goodbye for good after the 4th of May and a total of 93 impressive weeks on the U.K. Chart.
I’ve created my own separate playlists for both Sides 1 and 2 of this album with (I hope) the correct versions and the original track sequencing order for the U.K. release.
