Tony Christie

At No.41, on the “The Top 50 U.K. Singles Chart” on my 1st Birthday, is Tony Christie with “Avenues And Alleyways”.

The good news for Tony was…

…that he was spending his 3rd week in the chart with this single, the bad news is that next week would be it’s last.

The single, which was used as the television theme for the Gerry Anderson creation “The Protectors”, had entered the chart on the 4th of February at No.48 and by its second week had breached the Top 40 to sit at No.37.

This week sees him fall back to just outside that wall but next week he’ll climb back inside it again to sit at No.38 before he walks out for good.
