Cat Stevens
Teaser And The Firecat
At No.4, on the “The Top 50 U.K. Albums Chart” on the day I am born, is Cat Stevens again, this time with “Teaser And The Firecat”.
The follow up to Cat’s (later Yusuf’s) “Tea for the Tillerman”…
…was enjoying it’s second wave in the Top of the U.K Album Charts this week, most probably due to the release, in the equivalent Singles Chart, of the soon-to-be classic “Morning Has Broken”.
The Album had entered the Top 10 at No.8 on the 26th of September 1971.
It would get as high as No.5 before falling back to as low as No.23 before the new surge to the Top 10 took it up even further to No.2 in mid January 1972.
It would then slip back one place to No.3 and stay there for 4 weeks before this week’s chart.
It will end up slipping out of the Top 10 in the second half of March but won’t actually leave altogether until the week before Christmas 1972.
Even though that will be the last we will see of this album in this year, it will be back in 1973, and that’s where we’ll catch up with it’s journey in the future.
I’ve created my own separate playlists for both Sides 1 and 2 of this album with (I hope) the correct versions and the original track sequencing order for the U.K. release.

Many thanks goes to the Yusuf / Cat Stevens Official YouTube Channel (@YusufCatStevens) for providing the chance to hear the tracks so that together we can experience both sides of this album release, as it was intended, once again.
