Cilla Black
Baby We Can’t Go Wrong

At No.37, on the “The Top 50 U.K. Singles Chart”, the week of my 2nd Birthday, is Cilla Black with Baby We Can’t Go Wrong.
One of the UK’s most beloved…
…singers and entertainers graces this week’s singles chart with a new sound, which had also become her new theme song for her successful TV series “Cilla“, which was now embarking into it’s 7th season.
The multi-talented and down-to-earth lovable Liverpudlian from the Vauxhall district of that famed working class city, had been enjoying a television personality’s life, parallel to her singing career since the late 1960’s, having been signed into the new exciting role by the late Beatles manager Brian Epstein; one of the last processes he signed off on before his premature death in August 1967.
Before this new theme song took to the airwaves, the song “Step Inside Love“, a Paul McCartney composition, had been the familiar opening to the first four series.
This had been followed by…
…the Roger’s Greenaway & Cook composition “Something Tells Me (Something’s Gonna Happen Tonight)” for the last two series.
Now with a fresh new update,..
…to revitalise the series format once again, comes this new song, preceding her latest album which will be released later on this year.
The single…
…had entered the chart a few weeks before, on the 27th of January at No.45. It snuck into the Top 40 the following week at No.39 before climbing to its highest position of No.36 last week, although it slips a notch back this week.
From here,..
…it will slip another position next week to No.38 before a bigger drop occurs after that. As the current TV series comes to an end, so the run for the single will see it fall out of the chart altogether, the week after the 9th of March, giving this singles journey 6 weeks in total.
