Love Story – Music From The Original Soundtrack
At No.35, on the “The Top 50 U.K. Albums Chart” on the day I am born, is Francis Lai with “Love Story – Music From The Original Soundtrack”.
The soundtrack to the hugely popular early seventies film…
…had first entered the chart 10 months before on the 18th of April 1971 and had occupied various places at the back end of the chart for 6 consecutive weeks ending in May.
It would appear again, after a week away, in June for 3 further weeks.
Another 6 week visit would take in the month of July, where it would hit it’s highest position of breaking into theTop 10 at 10, and fall away again until the beginning of August.
In fact it would appear at some point also during the months of September, October and November.
After this, any chart visit would become more fleeting.
A week at the beginning of January 1972, and this lone week in February (probably another Valentine buying surge).
March and April fare better with a 4 week consecutive run but the final week on Chart will be the week which sees in the month of May.
I’ve created separate playlists for both Side 1 and 2 of this LP in the correct versions and the original track sequencing order for the U.K. release.
