Cat Stevens
Tea For The Tillerman
At No.30, on the “The Top 50 U.K. Albums Chart” on the day I am born, is Cat Stevens with “Tea For The Tillerman”.
Here was Cat Stevens with his previous 4th release.
His latest 5th release will get a visit further on up the chart.
“Tea For The Tillerman” had been visiting the U.K. Album Chart since it first entered on the 22nd of November 1970 although the visits so far had been brief and sporadic.
There had been 2 weeks after it’s first entry, then 1 week at the end of January 1971 and then another week a year later at the end of January 1972 when it reached its highest position of No.20.
We find him here, at No.30, during his longest streak where he’d re-entered for the 3rd time on the 6th of February 1972, getting new interest since his 5th LP which had been released in the previous October 1971.
After completing 15 consecutive weeks the Tillerman will again bow out in mid-May.
There will be more visits to come and we will catch up with him, and this album in the future.
I’ve created my own separate playlists for both Sides 1 and 2 of this LP with (I hope) the correct versions and the original track sequencing order for the U.K. release.
