Hudson-Ford
Burn Baby Burn

At No.30, on the “The Top 50 U.K. Singles Chart”, the week of my 2nd Birthday, are Hudson-Ford with Burn Baby Burn.
A single from two Strawbs…
…is enjoying its 2nd week on the UK Singles Chart this week.
With their former band reeling after big success with their previous album, and with massive sell-out tours, by the time they had arrived in America, tensions caused cracks to appear; and the group, with their current line-up literally burst at the seams.
Leaving the road clear for this new venture,..
…Richard Hudson (who also defected from drumming duties and picked up a guitar) and John Ford; both with a partnership together that went back further to when they were both members of the psychedelic outfit “Elmer Gantry’s Velvet Opera” (or just “Velvet Opera” when Elmer Gantry, or should I say Dave Terry, to give him his real name, wasn’t being mistaken for the character in the film adaptation of Sinclair Lewis‘ book). The duo decided to eject from the Strawbs and team up; and so, with the assistance of other session musicians (most notably Gerry Conway, who’d played on numerous projects in the early 1970’s, including several Cat Stevens albums), they set off on a new voyage.
The single…
…entered the chart last week at No.44 and this week climbs 14 places.
From here,..
… it rises up to enter the Top 20 at No.20, and another couple of weeks will take it five places higher, where it achieves its best position of No.15 for a week on the 10th of March, before beginning its decline.
The single will remain in the chart to take it to a total of 9 weeks, before it departs after the 13th of April.
