Roberta Flack
Killing Me Softly With His Song
At No.23, on the “The Top 50 U.K. Singles Chart” on my 1st Birthday, is Roberta Flack with “Killing Me Softly With His Song”.
This single and especially this song,..
…I have already covered extensively as part of my memory during my first year.
Another classic soulful song, as was the single at the position before it, had started on it’s U.K. Single Chart journey the previous week when it entered the chart at No.47.
The next few weeks…
…will see Roberta climb steadily up into the Top 10 and settle nicely at its peak position of No.6 on the 18th of March.
The climbdown from that peak will be more gradual while the British record buying public want to hold on to this song for a little while longer yet.
Eventually though, as the climate changed from the Winter to Spring, this single will slip softly away after the 19th of May after a 14-week stay.
