Chuck Berry

At No.18, on the “The Top 50 U.K. Singles Chart” on my 1st Birthday, is Chuck Berry with “Reelin’ And Rockin'”.

Another Chuck Berry Classic,..

recorded in a live setting, graces this chart.

Last year, at the same time, it was the guitar legend Jimi Hendrix who took a place in the charts with his rendition of “Johnny B. Goode”,…

…this year, at this time, it was the turn of the Rock and Roll legend himself to give us a fine live performance of this 16 year old song.

This live version of his 1957 classic,..

…which has a different “B”Side to released versions of this 1973 single to other territories outside the U.K. and Ireland, was originally only a B-Side itself back then to “Sweet Little Sixteen”, and this time round entered the chart on the 28th of January.

By its second week, it had leapt up 10 places to No.29 and by its third week, which is the week before this one, it was homing in on the Top 20 by landing at No.23.

This week, after breaching the Top 20, it gets to this highest position. From next week it will begin to slip back, falling to No.20.

Another 3 places will fall by the week after and then a big drop back to No.45 for it’s final week, after which Chuck will be rocking’ out of the chart with this single after the 17th of March.

The “A” Side

Chuck Berry – Reelin' And Rockin' (Side A Label)
Chuck Berry – Reelin’ And Rockin’

The “B” Side

Chuck Berry – Reelin' And Rockin' (Side B Label)
Chuck Berry – I Will Not Let You Go
