Shirley Bassey
I, Capricorn
At No.13, on the “The Top 50 U.K. Albums Chart” on the day I am born, is Shirley Bassey with “I, Capricorn”.
Going from a future “Sir” at No.14 to a future “Dame” at No.13,..
…the formidable Welsh songstress who would later become Dame Shirley Bassey, and who was still taking in the adulation from her latest James Bond theme “Diamonds Are Forever”, had entered the U.K. Album Chart with this album only the week before this current chart, when it had entered at No. 34.
This week would see it climb to its highest position before falling away, but ultimately completing a consecutive run of 8 weeks, leaving after the first week of April.
Shirley will be back for a weeks visit at the end of May and a final 2 week stint at the end of June, leaving for good with this album after the 1st of July.
I’ve created my own separate playlists for both Sides 1 and 2 of this album with (I hope) the correct versions and the original track sequencing order for the U.K. release.

Many thanks go to the Dame Shirley Bassey’s Official YouTube channel (@dameshirleybassey5707) for providing the chance to hear the tracks so that together we can experience both sides of this album release, as it was intended, once again.
Please show your support by visiting her channel.
