Carole King
Tapestry
At No.12, on the “The Top 50 U.K. Albums Chart” on the day I am born, is Carole King with “Tapestry”.
Carole’s 2nd, and most successful album,..
…to her current 3rd album “Music” (which was featured earlier in the same Chart), was still enjoying amazing chart dominance since first turning up in the U.K. Album Chart at No. 32 back on the 18th of July 1971.
“Tapestry” had achieved its highest position, as August turned into September that year, when it got to No. 4.
She will fall just 2 weeks shy of completing a full year in the chart when, after 50 straight weeks, this album will fall out of the Top 50 after the 1st of July 1972.
There would be more chart presence from this album, and eventually she would visit another of my birth years later on.
So, for now we will leave “Tapestry” here, on the way to becoming one the classic albums of its generation, and catch up with its story once that status had been achieved.
