Baby I Love You
At No.10, on the “The Top 50 U.K. Singles Chart” on my 1st Birthday, is Dave Edmunds with “Baby I Love You”.
As we enter the Top 10 of this chart…
…we are joined by Welsh sensation Dave Edmunds who was doing the same.
Dave enters the Top 10 at No.10 this week with his version of the Ronettes 1963 classic. One of 2 singles he’d release this year before taking a 3 year break from the chart.
Six weeks previously, on the 14th of January, he’d entered the chart at No.48.
After climbing into the Top 40 a week later at No.36, it would be another couple of weeks before he got inside the Top 30 at No.28.
From there though he took a big leap when, a week later on the 11th of February, he landed at No.12 before getting to this present position.
Next week he will climb two places further up to achieve his peak position of No.8 before slipping back to spend the next couple of weeks hovering on the Top 10 perimeter. The following couple of weeks would see the single behave the same ten places lower, around the Top 20.
A couple more weeks getting nearer to the exit will play out until he finally leaves for good after completing 13 weeks on chart after the 14th of April.
