Status Quo
Piledriver
At No.14, on the “The Top 50 U.K. Albums Chart” on my 1st Birthday, is Status Quo with “Piledriver”.
With their current single flying through the singles chart,..
…the Quo’s brand new album, the first since switching from Pye to new label Vertigo, was performing even better in the album chart.
The album had entered the chart, at No.23, just over a month before, on the 14th of January, and had climbed steadily since.
Just last week, it had hit its peak at No.5, before falling back to this position.
Next week will see it bounce back into the Top 10, to sit at No.8, before falling back again into the Top 20.
It will fall back out of the chart completely, at the end of April, but will be back after a brief break, and we’ll catch up with the boys in blue when the album shows up again as I notch up another birthday in the future.
I’ve created my own separate playlists for both Sides 1 and 2 of this album with (I hope) the correct versions and the original track sequencing order for the U.K. release.
