The Temptations
All Directions
At No.35, on the “The Top 50 U.K. Albums Chart” on my 1st Birthday, is The Temptations with “All Directions”.
Another musical act which was stepping out into the unknown…
…were the Temptations with their latest album.
Rumour has it that the group weren’t comfortable with the direction (pun intended) the album was going, especially the track, and single, “Papa was a Rolling Stone” which they strongly rejected at one point, certain that both the song and the album would not be a good move.
Fortunately, other level heads managed to persuade the guys to at least see what would happen. The outcome would become one of the group’s biggest, and bravest successes, and solidify them on the road to legendary status.
Here in the U.K., the album hit the chart around the same time as the single mentioned earlier, stepping in at No.42.
By it’s third week, from the 28th of January, it broke the Top 20 and hit it’s best position of No.19.
We join it here with only a short chart life left to run, as next week it will drop further to No.46 before rolling out after the 3rd of March.
I’ve created my own separate playlists for both Sides 1 and 2 of this album with (I hope) the correct versions and the original track sequencing order for the U.K. release.

Many thanks go to the following YouTube Channels for providing the chance to hear the tracks, so that together we can experience both sides of this album release, as it was intended, once again.
