Roy Orbison
The All-Time Greatest Hits Of Roy Orbison
At No.47, on the “The Top 50 U.K. Albums Chart” on my 1st Birthday, is Roy Orbison with “The All-Time Greatest Hits Of Roy Orbison”.
For a musical legend such as Roy,..
…this double album, featuring such an expanse of quality songs, all original recordings from the american Monument record label where the Texan had the majority of his musical success between 1960 to 1965, it’s astonishing that this album spent a grand total of just 3 standalone weeks on the U.K. Album Chart. This week being the last of those three.
The first occured the month before on the 21st of January when it crept in at No.43. The second of those weeks, when it also hit its highest position, was from the 4th of February. It just made it into the Top 40 at No.39.
After this week, it will disappear altogether.
I’ve created my own separate playlists for both Record 1, Sides 1 and 2 and Record 2, Sides 3 and 4, of this album with (I hope) the correct versions and the original track sequencing order for the U.K. release.
Record 1, Side 1
Record 1, Side 2
Record 2, Side 3
Record 2, Side 4
Many thanks goes to the Roy Orbison YouTube channel, for providing the chance to hear the tracks so that together we can experience both sides of of both records, of this album release, as it was intended, once again.
