Wishing Well
At No.25, on the “The Top 50 U.K. Singles Chart” on my 1st Birthday, is Free with “Wishing Well”.
Reaching the halfway point of this U.K. Top 50 Chart,..
…we meet Free heading back down the chart with their final hit single before disbanding later on in the year.
Another well known composition from the band,..
…bested only by their biggest hits “Alright Now” and “My Brother Jake”, “Wishing Well” had first charted on the 7th of January, seven weeks before, one position lower than this one, at No.26.
After jumping up to No.15 in it’s 2d week, it leapt into the Top 10, hitting No.8, by week 3, where it held the position for a further week before creeping up one place further to get to its highest position of No.7 on the 4th of February.
From this weeks position, they will slip further back down next week to No.30, then fall a further 12 positions to No.42 before falling once more to No.48, then leaving the chart altogether after the 17th of March.
