The New Seekers

At No.27, on the “The Top 50 U.K. Singles Chart” on my 1st Birthday, is The New Seekers with “Pinball Wizard / See Me, Feel Me”.

From their middle of the road success…

…with the Coke commercialised Ï’d Like To Teach The World To Sing” which not only featured in the U.K. Top 50 this time last year, but which I also featured as one of my memories from that time,..

…to this far rockier single paying homage to The Who’s rock opera “Tommy”, which got a big thumbs up from it’s writer and composer Pete Townshend.

This single,..

…which was also the opener to their latest album “Now”, was a new entry this week and in another two, will climb 11 places to it’s highest position of No.16 on the 4th of March.

It will end up spending another 3 weeks in the Top 20 before falling more dramatically until it shoots out of the chart altogether after the 14th of April.
