Lindisfarne
Fog On The Tyne
At No.10, on the “The Top 50 U.K. Albums Chart” on the day I am born, is Lindisfarne with “Fog On The Tyne”.
Lindisfarne’s breakthrough second studio album…
…was currently on it’s second run of consecutive weeks on chart.
The first run had begun in the last week of October 1971 when the album entered at No.23 and stayed for an initial total of 6 weeks.
Just over a week later it was back again, this time re-entering at No.39.
This current chart witnesses the first time the band enter the Top Ten and from here onwards they will climb every week, to 8, to 6, to 3 and then, on the 19th of March 1972, hit Number 1.
They’ll stay at the top for a solid 4 weeks and then spend another 12 further weeks within the Top Ten.
In total, this 2nd straight run in the chart will last a very respectable 50 weeks, eventually leaving the UK Album Chart after the 25th of November 1972.
I’ve created my own separate playlists for both Sides 1 and 2 of this album with (I hope) the correct versions and the original track sequencing order for the U.K. release.

Many thanks go to the YouTube’s Lindisfarne channel for providing the chance to hear the tracks so that together we can experience both sides of this album release, as it was intended, once again.
