Led Zeppelin
(Untitled)
At No.16, on the “The Top 50 U.K. Albums Chart” on the day I am born, is Led Zeppelin.
Here is the 2nd of the two Led Zeppelin entries in this chart…
…(and the one which, later on in my life, became the gateway into their music, and for that reason holds a special place for me) with their fourth album.
Led Zeppelin’s latest offering was still enjoying it’s first run since it had entered the UK Album Chart back the year before on the 21st of November 1971 at No.10.
The album which had no title but would come to be known by many, as “Zofo” or “Zoso”, “4 Symbols” or just plain old “Led Zeppelin 4” (or Led Zeppelin IV”), or even “Picture of Old Man with a Backload of Sticks Hanging on a Wall of a Demolished Building Near A Tenement Block of Depressing Flats” (ok I made that last one up) had already enjoyed it’s 2nd and 3rd week in the Chart at the No. 1 position. This week was the first time it had fallen out of the Top 10 and, quite surprisingly for me to find, it will only stay in the charts for another 8 weeks, leaving after the 22nd of April 1972.
Since then though, it will be back to visit many many times, and it will cross my path again to attend the U.K. charts further along my musical road, where there will be a lot of catching up to do…
For now though, I’m just pleased that one of my lifetime personal favourite albums is along for the ride.
I’ve created my own separate playlists for both Sides 1 and 2 of this album with the correct versions and the original track sequencing order for the U.K. release.

Many thanks go to the Led Zeppelin’s Official YouTube channel (@ledzeppelin) for providing the chance to hear the tracks so that together we can experience both sides of this album release, as it was intended, once again.
Please show your support by visiting their channel.
