Paint Your Wagon (Music From The Soundtrack)

At No.27, on “The Top 50 U.K. Albums Chart” on the day I was born, is the Original Motion Picture Soundtrack to the wild west movie “Paint Your Wagon”.
This film, notable for the vocal singing talents of Lee Marvin and Clint Eastwood,..
…was living out the last months of chart appearances in 1972.
It had originally entered the UK Album Chart, over 2 years previously, at the beginning of February 1970, where it would climb to a high point of No.2 and stay for 3 consecutive weeks there, only being denied the top spot by some duo by the names of Paul and Art with an album which had something to do with some water which was a bit troubled with a bridge over it.
Anyway, this album initially spent over a year in the chart without a break until it took it’s first leave of absence at the beginning of March 1971. It would return though in April for 2 weeks and then show up for every month of 1971 apart from December (9 weeks for April through to the end of June, 3 weeks in July, 2 weeks in August, 4 weeks which covered most of September, a further week in mid-October with another at the end, and one more week in November).
It would return the day after New Years Day in 1972 for a week, and then be back further into January to begin an 8 week stretch, which is where we find it on this chart.
After leaving again in the 2nd week of March, it will be back for another 8 week run at the end of that month which will see it cover most of the Spring.
The last 2 separate weeks on chart will play out as May gives way to June, and then the last from the 18th to the 24th of that same Summer month.

I’ve created my own separate playlists for both Sides 1 and 2 of this LP with the original track sequencing order for the U.K. release.
