Holly Sherwood
Day By Day
At No.29, on the the U.K. Top 50 Singles Chart the day I am born, is Holly Sherwood with “Day By Day”.
Holly was just venturing out as a solo star…
…with this, her first single which encompasses 3 songs from the musical Godspell.
Having previously carried out acting work from as early an age as 3 years, when she starred in a TV soap commercial, Holly (and her sisters) then went on to star in the stage musical of ‘The Sound Of Music’, before she was cast in a revival production of Irving Berlin’s 1940’s ‘Annie Get Your Gun’, for which the esteemed composer himself created a new song to highlight his new star in the Broadway show.
Tapping in on the musical background she was accustomed to; Holly, who would later in her career contribute vocal accompaniments to some of Jim Steinman’s biggest compositions, had climbed to her peak for this week’s UK Chart, enjoying a 2nd week at this position.
The medley had entered the chart 3 weeks before, on the 30th January, and will have another 3 weeks after this one, finally dropping out after the 18th of March.
